BREAKING NEWS: Israeli PM Ariel Sharon Hospitalized After Minor Stroke

A late-breaking report says that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has suffered a "minor stroke" and was hospitalized at about 8pm Israeli time after losing consciousness at his office Sunday.

ERHC On The Move extends to the Prime Minister and his family our prayers and and fervent hopes that he will make a swift recovery.

Here is the bulletin from bloggers at Vos Iz Neias (vosizneias.blogspot.com), a blog from Kiryas Joel in Monroe, N.Y., my hometown:

Israel - Ariel Sharon Taken To Hospital

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon is taken to hospital in Jerusalem after suffering a minor stroke and lost consciousness while working in his office.

Update, 2:20pm: Ariel Sharon is now conscious and undergoing tests in Jerusalem at Hadassah Hospital with his son at his bedside. There is no plan to replace him with an acting prime minister, CNN reports.

Our initial report beat CNN's Breaking News alert by about one minute. For more information, see The American Reporter.

Update, 2:57pm: According to his attending physician, Dr. Yuval Weiss at Hadassah Hospital, in a statement moments ago, Sharon suffered a "mild stroke," never lost consciousness, and will probably be discharged soon. He is currently alert and undergoing tests, Weiss said, and required no invasive procedures.
